Rural Fuels was founded as a response to the increased demand for propane in post-war America and has been supplying fuel to Connecticut since 1947. The business grew from only supplying propane to now providing propane, heating oil and HVAC services throughout the state. At first, we focused on Rural Fuels’ annual supply contracts. They had contracts with multiple vendors, and we secured more favorable contract pricing across their portfolio. We then optimized the scheduling system for the loads delivered to their bulk plant, achieving time savings with each load. Next, we oversaw purchasing of hedges and swaps to take advantage of market dips. Finally, Twin Feathers constructed a blended pricing program favorable for Rural Fuels and their customers.
