Charles Robertson started Twin Feathers Consulting (TF) in 1998 in the Chicago area, with a plan to provide secure propane supply and risk management services to independent retailers. Since that time, the TF team has been entrusted with the management of nearly two billion gallons of propane. Our company focus has been on clients' security of supply and margin enhancement. Our success has been a result of creating diversified portfolios of product supply and matching clients' retail marketing programs with proven risk management strategies.
Charles previously worked on crude and natural gas drilling rigs in Western Canada. After graduating from the University of Calgary, his propane career started in the NGL department for Amoco (now BP), which was the largest producer/shipper of NGLs in North America. Charles has over 25 years of experience in the propane industry, serving propane clients across the United States and Eastern Canada. He has built a solid team with extensive industry background of over 80 years; developed strong supplier/trading relationships; and implemented proven strategies with this integrity-driven team which has provided strong results and growth for our customers.
Charles is happily married and proud father of two wonderful children. He has also achieved a 2nd degree Tae Kwon Do Black Belt.

JD Buss has been successfully working with propane clients to devise and implement hedging strategies as well as optimize supply situations. In August 2008, he joined Twin Feathers Consulting after having prior experience at Koch Industries and Enron in risk management and marketing/trading roles. Prior experience in crude and natural gas markets provided a valuable insight as he entered the propane world. This additional product knowledge and analytical viewpoint broadens the outlook provided in the Twin Feathers Daily Market reports.
As a CPA and former small business owner, J.D. also brings accounting knowledge and operational experience to the Twin Feathers team and client base. J.D. has recently become Series 3 licensed and is working to become a licensed Commodity Trading Advisor. Certifications along with focused attention to the markets have become critical in both protecting and improving our client's bottom line.
Since 2013, JD has been actively involved in the PGANE association and become part of the Supply Committee for the association. In addition to speaking at PGANE, JD has spoken at the Southeast Conference and NPGA Benchmarking meeting as well as writing several articles for the BPN Magazine.

With over 30 years in the propane industry, Frank Kidd brings a wealth of experience in refined products and natural gas liquids, including propane. His petroleum career began with Phillips Petroleum Co in Kansas City, Mo where he spent several years in various capacities of refined products. In 1974 he became employed by Farmland Industries in propane where he soon became the Director of Propane Marketing and Executive Director of Natural Gas Liquids. After the 1998 merger of Farmland Industries and CHS Petroleum Divisions, Frank became the Manager of Propane Supply and Risk Management, overseeing dealers in 44 states.
During the last decade, Frank has had the opportunity to work with two different propane start-up firms, Inergy Propane Services and Alliance Energy, that dealt with both retail and wholesale operations. A solid emphasis on supply, ability to promote good working relationships between suppliers and retailers and strong professional ethics are all qualities that Frank adds to the Twin Feathers team.

Kristal Myers joined Twin Feathers in July 2013 as the office manager. Prior to Twin Feathers, Kristal worked in the telecommunications industry where she started at United Telephone Company of Ohio before moving to the Kansas City area in 1994 with Sprint. After 30 years, she retired from CenturyLink in May 2012 and did volunteer work at one of the local hospitals. She has come well equipped with experience in customer service, human resources and regulatory. With her foray into the propane industry, Kristal brings a highly organized skillset to assist the TF team in maintaining our high level of service to the TF family of clients.

Matt Adams has been in the propane and refined products industries since 2007. His roles have mainly been focused in transportation and risk management. Matt began his energy career with FerrellGas managing the bulk distribution of propane across the Mid-Atlantic and Southwest regions.
Matt built on his operational experience to become a manager of a logistics team at CarterEnergy – the largest U.S. marketer for Phillips 66. He spent five years there working to maximize the efficiencies of a 30-truck fleet with 70 drivers across four Midwest markets.
Most recently, Matt entered into the risk management side of the energy equation working at INTL FC Stone. During his time there he helped retailers and wholesalers develop and implement hedging programs as it related to their pipeline shipments, bulk plant inventory, retail margin protection, and fixed forward contracts for their end-users.
His background in business operations and risk management allows him to help provide strong support for the Twin Feathers client base. He graduated from The University of Kansas with a B.S. in Accounting and holds his Series 3 license.
